Eric D. Banks is an Executive Principal / Partner and co-founder of CORE Partners, LLC (est. April 2006). In addition to his transactional services, Eric is acting Principal Associate Broker for the firm with responsibility for oversight of the company’s brokerage services team. As a member of CORE’s Executive Management Team, Eric is also responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company. CORE represents a broad spectrum of corporate clients and exclusively represents over 6.5 million square feet. Under the direction of the “Executive Management Team” CORE Partners, LLC has been consistently named among Detroit’s CoStar Power Brokers™. CORE was measured against all other commercial real estate brokerage firms active in this region and ranked based on overall transaction volume. As a recipient of the CoStar 2007-2011 Power Broker Award, CORE Partners is recognized as one of the top commercial real estate firms in the United States. Eric is also individually recognized for his professional work by CoStar as a Power Broker Award recipient.

Eric has been an active real estate professional since 1998 and has completed over $280 million in sale and lease transactions. Prior to becoming an Executive Principal/Partner with CORE, Eric was a Vice President with Friedman Real Estate Group, Inc. which he joined in 1998. Quickly distinguishing himself as a leading industry professional in Southeastern Michigan while with Friedman, Eric was named to the list of “Top Producers” each year from 1998-2005.

With specialized knowledge in investment, office retail, and hi-tech/industrial properties, Eric has a long established track record as a deal maker with a proven ability to work through more complex real estate transactions that may involve environmental risk, difficult value assessment, creative financing structures, bankruptcies, short sales, lease vs. buy analysis, new lease structuring, or executing and negotiating tax free exchanges. Representative clients for whom Eric has been engaged to perform work are some of the area’s largest property owners and corporations, including Liberty Property Trust (REIT), Burton-Share, RSM Development and Management, Crow Holdings, Capmark Finance, Peoples State Bank (PSB), Talmer Bank and Trust, Charter One Bank, Flagstar Bank, McKinley Inc., Stout Risius Ross, Berkadia, DRA Advisors, ARGUS, C3, Home Depot, Inc., Larson Realty Group, United Shore Financial and Stuart Frankel Development, to name a few. Ultimately, Eric’s in depth knowledge of the local commercial real estate climate and broad experience creates the environment for a successful transaction at favorable market terms that meet and surpass client expectations.

Prior to becoming a full time real estate professional, Eric practiced law for eight years with two of Detroit’s most prestigious law firms. Eric’s unique experience allows him to apply his real estate, business and legal background to those corporate real estate issues facing clients, whether through Owner/Landlord representation or Tenant/Buyer representation, Eric is recognized as providing clients with practical business strategies and insightful real estate solutions that are creative and fundamentally sound. Eric has a demonstrated expertise and successful track record in the areas of asset acquisition, disposition and leasing. He has extensive experience in both Tenant/Buyer and Landlord/Seller representation which provides an important understanding of the dynamics between both. Eric is a sought after consultant on real estate matters, often is retained by court appointed Receivers and frequently provides expert witness testimony in both state and federal court litigation matters.

A Michigan native and 1990 graduate of the University of Detroit School of Law, Eric resides with his wife and two children in Birmingham, Michigan.

United Shore Financial Services (USFS) one of the largest independent mortgage bankers in the United States has leased and will move into 110,000 SF on the buildings upper floors. The building will be re-named the United Shore Financial Center. Eric Banks represented USFS while Matthew Farrell and Michael Koenigbauer represented Lehman Brothers.
