Ms. Spanos is a Senior Business Development Representative in the economic development team for Oakland County Planning & Economic Development.
Oakland County is the economic engine for the State of Michigan. In her current position within the economic development team, Ms. Spanos' focus is on the European market where she works with European companies who are looking to establish a business presence in the North American market. Ms. Spanos also focuses on Life Sciences companies (Biotech, Pharma and Medical Devices) as part of the county's Emerging Sector Program.
She assists companies in and out of the state of Michigan helping them grow their companies globally from an Oakland County address. Services include incentive coordination, site location, financing, workforce development . Recent investment missions Ms. Spanos has organized and participated in include Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Germany.
Prior to joining Oakland County's Economic Development Team, Ms. Spanos managed the Marketing, Public Relations & Advertising Department for the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME). In this role she worked with manufacturers around the world in improving their global operations through training and resources offered by SME.
Ms. Spanos holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Adminstration from Wayne State University.
She is on the Planning Committee for MichBio (the state's life sciences organization), and an active member of the Michigan Small Tech Association (MiStA), the Michigan Economic Development Association (MEDA), International Economic Development Council (IEDC), German American Chamber of Commerce (GACC), French American Chamber of Commerce (FACC), Swedish American Chamber of Commerce (SACC),
