Ted A. Wilson joined CORE partners LLC in April 2007 as Vice President, Partner. Prior to that Ted operated Featherstone Corporation, an independent real estate consulting firm for seven years concentrating in corporate service representation of office and industrial buyers and tenants throughout Oakland and Macomb Counties. For many years prior to that he worked as Vice President with global real estate services provider Grubb & Ellis. Ted brings over 20 years expertise in commercial real estate involving Tenant/Buyer, Landlord/Seller, management and development experience.
After receiving his MBA from Michigan State, Ted began his working career in the food processing industry in Missouri working in his family’s business where he was first exposed to commercial real estate. Upon the sale of that business he did consulting work in that industry in Colorado, Kansas, Arizona and Alaska. Between consulting assignments, Ted developed and sold a self storage facility, remodeled a former hospital into an office building and converted a motel with a casual dining room into an apartment complex and a white table cloth restaurant. Thereafter his work lead him to upper management positions with Holly Farms, Continental Grain, and Thorn Apple Valley, which brought Ted to the Detroit Market. In 1992 Ted left the food manufacturing industry in order to stop traveling and began his career as a Commercial Real Estate Consultant.
Since being in the Detroit Market Ted has represented and developed relationships with clients such as William Beaumont Hospital, St. Clair Specialty Physicians (an affiliate of St. John’s Hospital), Ferlito Construction, Reliable Analysis, Applied Manufacturing Technologies, Media Genesis Corporation, and Peter Basso Associates. To better serve his clients Ted has attended classes and seminars on 1031 Tax Free Exchange, Build to Suit Industrial and Office Buildings, SBA Loans, Commercial Title Insurance, environmentally and distressed properties, Pro Calc Analysis, and Argus Financial Modeling Programs. Ted’s broad real estate and business experience together with his in depth market knowledge is what allows him to bring value to each new assignment.
In addition to his real estate work in Detroit, Ted has volunteered his time with many non-profit organizations. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Troy Chamber of Commerce, having served as Chairman of the Economic Development Committee for six years; he was given the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2005. Currently he sits on the Finance and Audit Committee for the Troy Chamber. Additionally he graduated from Leadership Oakland, served as President of the Bloomfield Hills Optimist Club in 1998-1999 and as Treasurer from 2001-2006, and is a member of the endowment committee for St. Stephens Episcopal Church.
