||The third largest township in Washtenaw County, Scio comprises about 32 square miles located between Maple, Scio Church, Parker and Joy Roads. It is a community of more than 16,500 residents, located immediately west of Ann Arbor. The Township is home to the beautiful Huron River – hugged by the scenic Huron River Drive – and is bisected by Jackson Boulevard and I-94. Scio Township is a diverse and thriving community. Scio has many significant attributes that draw smaller start-up companies to the area, including large, vacant spaces, low rental costs, easy access to Ann Arbor and places eastwards, no traffic congestion and free parking. These attributes appeal even to larger companies and nationally known corporations, several of which have located in Scio. Scio also offers easy access to necessary services and retail – car maintenance, groceries, supplies, restaurants and coffee shops.

There are two outstanding public school systems to serve township residents – Ann Arbor and Dexter. Both have excellent ratings. This designation is intended to serve both neighborhood and overall Township resident’s retail shopping needs. Uses envisioned are of a general retail nature to serve the residents of Scio Township. Automotive service stations and heavy automotive repair are not compatible with the Commercial category. The Commercial category is intended to provide a diversified number of goods and services.

Jackson Road Corridor found in the Village of Dexter and the City of Ann
